STRING COMBINER BOX:

The combiner box is a device that combines the output of many strings of PV modules for connection to the inverter. It is used in the larger commercial and utility-scale PV power plants (greater than 500 kW). It is resistant to corrosion and pollution thanks to the use of an isolating polyester enclosure reinforced with fiberglass.

It is Mounted on a support bracket or on a plinth for independence to the racking system, or attached to the racking system for less civil work. It’s Capabilities to connect up to 2 PV string cables and 2 DC output cables per polarity.

ACDB:

Alternating Current distribution board (also known as panel board or breaker panel) is a component of an electricity supply system. It divides an electrical power feed into subsidiary circuits. It provides a protective fuse or circuit breaker for each circuit. The ACDB receives the AC power from the solar inverter and directs it to AC loads through the distribution board.

A reliable and safe electrical supply is an absolute “must” on board every ship. The safe supply from many sources such as shore power, generator, and inverter to each of the electrical consumers is controlled. The unit functions as the central location for circuit breakers within the AC system.

DCDB:

The DC Distribution Box is used to provide flexibility for the operator of the solar power plant to disconnect and connect both the inward solar supply and battery terminals. Here an MCCB and a fuse of proper rating depending upon the capacity of the power plant and the battery bank are used.

In the DCDB we have two sections one is the solar section and the other is the battery section.

Solar Section/ Battery Section

In the solar section, the incoming terminals from the MCB are fed to the input connectors. The conduction path takes place through the MCB and an HRC Fuse of proper rating selected as per the system capacity and the panel used in the power plant. The same is for the incoming terminals from the battery bank.

Monitoring Section of DCDB

The DCDB is for a digital Ampere Hour meter to observe the charging/discharging currents of the battery i.e. Ah of the Battery.

This meter is to work only on the AC external supply from the ACDB feeder.
